Graduate Development Program

The Northern Territory Public Sector is NT’s largest single employer with over 15,000 employers. There are more than twenty Agencies to choose from and an even greater amount of career options. The Territories natural beauty combined with the friendly atmosphere created by Northern Territorians makes the NTPS a great place to start your professional career.

Graduates from diverse disciplines and backgrounds are encouraged into the program to help meet the current needs of the NTPS.

Graduates have the opportunity to begin their career with the NTPS in an environment that continues their professional training within a supervised workplace. The NTPS regularly identifies disciplines needed in its future workforce and offers employment to Graduates as part of its strategic succession management. Thus participants in the program fill an important role in the development of the Sector.

The Graduate Development Program is a one or two year program that is available Territory wide and enables graduates to obtain employment in the public sector at appropriate and attractive remuneration levels and to participate in a program of professional development. The salary of a Graduate is dependent on the length of degree and relevant work experience undertaken, and can vary between $41,506 - $47,006 with possible six monthly incremental progressions based on performance and achievement of identified outcomes.
